Brown Deck - 2013

Mr. Brown had a covered, concrete, porch that was deteriorating, and he was looking for options to repair or replace it. After reading our customer reviews on Angie's List, he gave Eder Construction a call. His initial thought was to have it removed and rebuilt, but cost was a major concern. After listening to his desires and budgetary concerns, we suggested replacing the porch and roof with a treated wood deck. Mr. Brown liked the idea and decided to award us the job.

As with every project we do, we put pride and hard work into designing and building Mr. Brown's deck, and it was totally appreciated. He could not be happier with the product we provided and vows to use us for future projects.

Schiefelbein Master Bath Remodel - 2013

Ms. Schiefelbein had a few other companies in to bid this project. She shared with me, later, that she chose Eder Construction, not based on price, but because of our eye for detail during the bidding and design process. This is the ultimate compliment and is affirmation that we are doing things the right way.

She had a tile shower that was built improperly, had been leaking for a while, and had compromised the integrity of the floor and walls in the area. She also had a carpeted floor that she wanted to replace with a heated tile floor and a bathroom that was in need of updating.

The first obstacle was to convince her that the custom shower system we use would not leak and lead to the same problems she was currently experiencing. We use, and believe in, a Schluter Kerdi shower system, and after reviewing their products online, she agreed that there isn't a better product on the market.

We made all of the needed structural repairs and finished off the bathroom with a custom tile shower, complete with a bench seat and a frameless glass enclosure. The tile was replaced on the whirlpool tub deck and steps. That, along with the addition of the heated tile floor, makes this a warm, relaxing retreat after a long day at work. Once again, we exceeded expectations and left behind a very happy customer.

O'Bryan Master Bath Remodel - 2013

There is nothing more flattering than to have a customer call you back for another project. We spent the early part of 2010 doing an extensive kitchen remodel for the O'Bryan's, and they were so happy with our work, they called us back in 2013 to remodel their master bathroom.

As with their kitchen in 2010, the master bath was outdated and no longer filled the O'Bryan's needs. They had an old whirlpool tub that they seldom used and a very small shower that was used up. What they wanted was to eliminate the tub and create a shower that was the centerpiece of their bathroom.

After listening to their wishes, we designed and created a master bathroom that fulfilled all of their desires and exceeded their expectations once again. The custom tile shower, with frameless glass enclosure, catches your eye as soon as you walk through the door and truly is the centerpiece of this beautiful bathroom. We look forward to working for the O'Bryan's again, in the near future.

Hawkins Laundry Room & Welcome Center - 2013

When you are an active family, with kids, you are constantly on the go. Organization of sporting equipment and school supplies become imperative. Many families are looking to remodel their laundry area into more of a welcome center to aid with this organization. The Hawkins family was looking to find a solution to their organization problem when they contacted Eder Construction in late 2012.

After listening to their needs, we designed a laundry room, including a custom Welcome Center that alleviated their problems. We first added some, much needed, cabinets to help eliminate the clutter. Then, we added a custom Welcome Center to aid in organization.

As always, we listened to our customer's needs and created a space that solved all of their problems. They were totally thrilled with their new laundry room and welcome center and vowed to use Eder Construction on all of their home projects.

Pich Remodel - 2012

The Pich's were a young couple who were expecting their first child and wanted to have several projects completed before their new addition arrived. We began upstairs by tiling the floor in their bathroom with a beautiful, cultured marble tile. The pattern was a challenge, but the final product really changed the look and feel of their bathroom. Next, we replaced their carpeted, particle board, stairs with new oak treads and painted risers. The dangerous, pie-shaped landing at the bottom of the stairs was replaced with a full oak landing and a new stair and tread. Finally, the outdated handrail was replaced with a modern, removable handrail so it could easily be removed when moving large pieces of furniture up or down the stairs.

Following the stair replacement, we shifted our focus to sprucing up the main level of their home. We installed a cultured marble backsplash in their kitchen, which really finished off the kitchen remodel they had done a couple years ago. Lastly, we moved into the family room and modernized their seldom-used, brick fireplace and hearth by installing a solid surface granite hearth, cultured marble tile surround, and a custom walnut mantle to match their existing furniture. The project was finished off with new doors on their fireplace.

As always, we did everything that we could do to exceed our customer's expectations.

Mayhugh Room Addition - 2012

In 2010 we worked with the Mayhughs, trying to make their dream home a reality, but cost and economical concerns kept them from taking the plunge, so we began planning a room addition to their current home that include a large family room with a gas fireplace, custom mantle, tiled hearth, and a laundry room, pantry and a mud room.

We took total advantage of the beautiful weather that we received in early January, February, and March and built this room addition. Many times adding a room this time of year can create problems, but Mother Nature was cooperative and the project was completed on time, within budget, and once again, we exceeded our customer's expectations.

Beasley Kitchen Remodel and Bath Relocation - 2011

After giving the Beasleys a month's reprieve, we returned to remodel their kitchen and relocate their half bath. It was great to be back now that there is a beautiful deck and screened-in porch for us to eat our lunch on while enjoying the beautiful view and wildlife their backyard has to offer.

The Beasley's first contacted us early this spring about remodeling their 1970's kitchen, but since it takes some time to plan a kitchen remodel we jumped outside to build them a space they could use while we worked on making sure that all of their wants and needs in a kitchen were addressed. The plans were adjusted to meet all of their wants and needs, and we got down to business.

We first relocated a half bath that was awkwardly located in the laundry room into a hall closet centrally located on the main floor. Once this was completed, we began our work on the kitchen remodel. To give this beautiful, 1960's home a more open and modern look and feel, we removed the wall between the family room and kitchen. Worked progressed very nicely as years of dreaming and weeks of planning turned into a reality.

The Beasleys dream kitchen was equipped with new, beautiful Mid Continent Signature series maple cabinets, a Hanstone quartz countertop, slate floor tile and glass subway tile splash. The kitchen was completed with all new, stainless steel appliances. A custom pantry and welcome center were included to help the Beasleys store all of the food and organize all of the gear that come with 4 active children. The entire project, once again, exceeded our customer's expectations. We are looking forward to working for the Beasleys again.

Beasley Deck and Screened-In Porch - 2011

The Beasleys have a beautiful backyard, full of wildlife but have never really been able to enjoy it properly because it is also home to plenty of pesky bugs, especially mosquitoes. As a 20th wedding anniversary present, they decided to give themselves a space where they can actually enjoy their stunning view without being annoyed while doing so.

I absolutely love working in the great outdoors, but Mother Nature created the challenges on this project. As soon as we dug the 24 holes we needed for the post framed foundation the rains came and it rained, and rained, and rained for a couple weeks. When the rains stopped, it was evident why the homeowners needed a screened-in porch to enjoy their yard. Once we got things dried out enough to get back to work, the heat came and stayed through the completion of this project.

In spite of Mother Nature, we completed this project and totally exceeded the customer's expectations. That is what we strive for at Eder Construction. They were so pleased with our work, they have decided to have us back to remodel their kitchen and bath in the fall.

Marshall Bath Remodel - 2011

To have a customer request that we return for another project is the ultimate compliment. In 2010 we transformed the outside of the Marshall's home from an outdated, deteriorating maintenance nightmare into a virtually maintenance-free home of beauty. They were so pleased with our work on the exterior of their house, they decided to have us transform their outdated, over-worked hall bathroom as well.

During the transformation, we totally gutted the entire bath, including the cast iron tub, tile walls, vanity, toilet and flooring. Once the demo was completed, we replaced the old tub and tile walls with a new, fiberglass tub and surround that is now big enough for the homeowner to relax and enjoy bathing. We replaced the old vanity with a new, maple vanity, linen cabinet and cultured marble top. The old vinyl flooring and wood base were replaced with tile. To finish it all off, we freshened up the room with new paint, toilet, ceiling fan/light, mirror, and satin nickel faucets on the tub and vanity.

Once again we made the homeowners very happy that they hired Eder Construction, and they promised to use us again in the future. We love happy, repeat customers.

Kelley Entertainment Redesign - 2011

With the invention of the wall-mounted flat screen TV, came the need to find new and creative ways to showcase them. The customers of this project were looking for a way to utilize a corner of their family room as an entertainment area and also add some ambiance. We listened to their vision and created a corner wall with a tiled, faux fireplace and mantle, a surface to mount their large flat screen TV, and threw in a niche to house the DVR and Blu-ray to eliminate the wire clutter that surrounds most entertainment centers. As you can read in our Testimonial section, we succeeded in surpassing our customer's expectations.

Marshall Siding & Chimney - 2010

The homeowners wanted a house that was almost maintenance free, so that is what we gave them. This job was done in the summer of 2010. The extensive heat during the months of July and August made this job a challenge, but we persevered.

We replaced all of the rotted hardboard siding, soffit, and gutter boards with Hardie trim and siding, which is a very durable material that is made of light-weight concrete, and built to last a very long time. The chimney, which was deteriorating, was removed entirely and rebuilt with new brick. The front columns and trim around the front bay window were removed and rebuilt using AZEK, which is a PVC product. Finally, to complete the job, the entry door was replaced.

In a few short weeks we transformed the exterior of this house from a maintenance nightmare into a virtually maintenance-free home of beauty, providing the homeowners with a home they can enjoy and be proud of and not have to work on every weekend to keep it that way.

O'Bryan Kitchen - 2010

If I had to pick a favorite job of 2010, I would choose this one because it provided us with the most challenges. The homeowners loved their home but had a kitchen that needed updated, a formal dining area that they rarely used, a less formal eating area that they would like to convert into more of a computer space, and a corner screened-in porch that just didn’t fulfill their needs. After working with the design team at Carter-Lee Pro-Build, it was decided that we would combine all 4 areas into one, large, flowing area that fit all of their needs.

At this point, the challenges began. The first challenge we were faced with was how to structurally make all of this happen. Roof and ceiling loads had to be transferred. To accomplish this task we had to insert large beams in the attic and basement, and columns in the walls. Challenge number two was removing the slab from the old screened-in porch so that we could connect that area with the existing floor in the house and create a crawl space, for ventilation, under it. As with any kitchen remodel, the largest challenge is working the job so that the homeowner is without a kitchen for the least amount of time. This job was no different. After all of the structural work was completed, we finally were able to get down to the business of transforming these 4 separate areas into a large, connected area for , in which to enjoy cooking, entertaining, and relaxing.
